Nat Cassidy

is an actor, musician, playwright, and director living in New York City. He rejects anything even closely resembling job security.

Born in North Carolina (which added his initials to the stage flag in commemoration), raised in Arizona, and now residing in Brooklyn, Nat has been performing as an actor for over twenty years.

As frontman to Nat Cassidy & the Nines, he has written and recorded two albums (Pet Symmetry and Everybody Here Says Hi! both available for purchase and download from GFS Productions) and is currently at work on the band's third, a double-album entitled Words of Whiskey. He has performed with and without the Nines at venues such as the Knitting Factory, Pete's Candy Store, Mo Pitkin's, Galapagos, and others.

As a playwright, Nat's works have received readings across the country, including venues such as Theatre Row in Mid-town Manhattan. His full-length piece, The Reckoning of Kit & Little Boots, will be receiving a full production by The Gallery Players and Engine37 this summer.

As a director, he has helmed projects as venues like the Manhattan Theatre Source, Theatre Row, and the Knitting Factory.

What's New?

Many exciting things happening in 2008! So far:

• HUGE HUGE NEWS!! DRUDGE SIREN!!! Nat's newest play, Any Day Now, is being produced by the Writers Forum at Manhattan Theatre Source this January, as part of the InGenius festival! This is Nat's third produced script in one year! More details can be found here. 
• Nat played professional sexyman Frank Versati to rave reviews in the Gallery Player's production of Steve Martin's The Underpants.  
• Nat's play, The Reckoning of Kit & Little Boots, ran to much acclaim this June. See the Press page for more! (Speaking of acclaim, you'll see that Sleeper was a smash, as well.)
• Recording of the newest Nat Cassidy & the Nines album, Words of Whiskey, is going swimmingly.
